The forest as climate saver
At STS, the importance of the forest and sustainable forestry is central to the company’s philosophy. The forest is not just a resource, but a living ecosystem that influences life on earth. We are deeply convinced that the sustainable management of our forests and the promotion of environmentally friendly practices are essential for our company and our world. That is why we pay attention to short transportation routes and only buy sustainably certified logs from within a radius of 100 miles.

as a source of life
Our forests not only play a crucial role in our ecosystem, but also provide a home for numerous animal and plant species. We understand the need to protect and preserve these unique habitats. Trees store carbon dioxide (CO2) as part of their life cycle, especially during growth. During the process of photosynthesis, trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air and convert it into oxygen and carbohydrates. The stored CO2 remains in the trees and our climate is thus stabilized.

Forest management
It is important to note that trees not only store CO2, but also release CO2 when they die and rot. It is therefore essential to harvest the grown trees and to incorporate the wood obtained from them with the stored carbon into the buildings of the future in the long term and to reforest the forest. Only by doing this the positive effect on the climate can be guaranteed.
